  • NPO Enduring Productivity and Quality Movement in all Economic Sectors of Pakistan

    gathering of journalists Islamabad- In a small gathering of journalists that was organized by National Productivity Organization (NPO), Former CEO-NPO Dr. Sher Muhammad expressed his commitment that despite limited resources NPO will continue to make Productivity & quality movement in all economic sectors of Pakistan. He said that NPO has been developing and strengthening the economic sectors in compliance with international best practices which in turn are making Pakistan more productive and Globally Competitive. NPO is also representing Pakistan at APO (Asian productivity Organization), WCPS (World Confederation of Productivity Science) and WNPO (World Network of Productivity Organizations) to avail the multitude benefits related to productivity and quality. Dr. Sher Muhammad added that NPO has also established Women Entrepreneurship Development System (WEDS) in Multan. WEDS in Peshawar is under process. The purpose of WEDS is to help rural women entrepreneurs for assistance in branding, designing, packing and improving color scheme of their products according to modern trends.

    Mr. Aftab Khan, Head Energy team said NPO during Energy Efficiency Audits in textile sector up to 15% Energy saving potential was identified in process flaws in numerous textile units. It was told that NPO has audited 150 textile units in last three years. He added that this saving can be achieved through change in mind set through trainings with minimal efforts.

    Speaking about agricultural reforms Former CEO-NPO also told the media personnel that for the first time NPO will be introducing certification on organic farming and taking up new initiatives in tunnel farming. NPO through its post harvest peach project for trained about 3300 farmers.
