       2008

        ●  International Training Course Organized by NPO-Pakistan from April 14-18 at Lahore

        ●  NPO/APO/PARC successfully conducted 5-day International Training Course on Organic

            Farming, Production and Inspection from April 21-25 at Islamabad

    NPO Availed APO Facilities under Member Countries Support Program

        ●  Launched first UNV Program to develop P&Q tools for industry; under which:

        ●  APO Japan/JPC-SED deputed an SME Management Advisor for eight months and provided

            consultancy service in five role model companies

        ●  Under the same program, three Japanese Experts provided service in human resource

            development, Kaizen and standardization and total quality management

        ●  Also availed  APO’s UNV under BCBN Programs

    NPO Availed APO’s Technical Expert Services (TES) for its Stakeholders

        ●  Benchmarking in Cotton Spinning Sector launched in collaboration with APTMA and

           identified 80 best practices. Mr Greet de Clercq (Belgium)

        ●  At the request Pakistan Machine Tool Factory, Karachi and Synthetic Products Enterprises

           (Pvt) Ltd. (SPEL) Lahore, the NPO arranged an expert (Mr. Kunihiko Yoshida, Japan) on Die

           Casting and Mould Making Practices for 16 days who imparted technical training and

           consultancy to both the organizations.

       ●  Two Technical Expert Services extended to TUSDEC for setting up of TDM centre at

           Karachi  in 2006

       ●  TES facility on Skill Mapping to benefit future skill development interventions for setting up

           of technical education and vocational training centers by TUSDEC.

       ●  Three Workshops on Doha Round Negotiations and its Impact on Tariff & Trade for industrial

           sector to help entrepreneurs benefit from international experience

       ●  An International Expert deputed on Energy Efficiency to conduct energy audits in textile

           sector and build human capacity - an effort to bridge the gap between demand and supply.

       ●  Three staff members of Administration and Finance from NPO were sent to Malaysia and

           Thailand for capacity building under BCBN.

       ●  Second TES on Energy Efficiency to conduct energy audits is scheduled in March 2008.
