Training on Wheels
Training Division
launched second tier i.e. Training on Wheels (TOW) program, a result
oriented training program at company premises. The idea behind starting
this program besides General Awareness Training (GAT) was to disseminate
best practices of the role model companies and motivate middle and shop
floor workers to participate actively in the productivity improvement
activities.
In the TOW program, we adopted bottom-up approach for the training and development of work force with a special focus on productivity, quality, competitiveness and labor productivity.
Based on the on-job training concept, TOW program provides customized trainings as per Training Need Assessments (TNA) of the selected organizations both from public and private sectors. An Efficiency Evaluation System has also been inbuilt into this program in the form of “Productivity Audits” to measure the performance of the organizations participating in these programs at different intervals and also to monitor the effectiveness of the training and other miscellaneous recommendations by the NPO trainers.
The TOW program is comprised of two phases. The first phase is designed to bring visual changes within the organization through various Quality and Productivity Tools as identified on the basis of need analysis. The second phase focuses on process improvement through technical assistance. Each phase is designed to bring drastic changes through motivational and change management sessions. The scope of work in the TOW program is confined to the model department only. The total duration for TOW program is 6-8 Months for each organization.
Result oriented training plans are prepared after conducting the Training Need Assessments of each organization. All presentations are prepared in Urdu and the sessions are being conducted in either Urdu or local language as per the need of the company.
